Nashville, Tennessee I woke up with a heavy heart today. For no specific reason at all. Just the weight of the past few months that I’ve been facing head on sometimes catch up to me. But that’s ok. Nobody needs to wake up happy and optimistic and smiley everyday. As they say... “Feelings are visitors. Let them come and let them go” . Days like today I like to find mantras that will calm my heart and let me get through the day until the sun comes up again tomorrow. I just found this one this morning: “I am grounded. My spirit is grounded deep in the earth. I am calm, strong centered and peaceful. I am able to let go of fear, and trust that I am safe. Toronto, Ontario I read a quote recently (I couldn’t tell you where) that said, “Be the person your yoga mat thinks you are”. This put a smile on my face and made me think for a second, that is exactly who I want to be. When I’m on my mat I feel a sense of calming, a moment when nothing else matters but being on my mat. I am present, I step out of my comfort zone, I am kind and deep down I am authentically, me. True yoga is not about the shape of your body, it’s about the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed, but to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been, yoga cares about the person you are becoming. You might not be a yoga person and that’s okay. I know there is something you do that brings out the best in you. Be that person, today and always.
