: 8 Nature's a tricky one.
Throughout evolution we've developed a need to satisfy our immediate circumstances.
We would do anything to satisfy the hunger we have right now, no matter what the cost.
And it's in us to want to be satisfied right now and risk our long term health and happiness.
But in the 21st century this creates many problems, stresses and disease like migraines.
We end up trading one thing for another and going from one moment of immediate satisfaction to another.
This is regularly preyed upon by food companies that engineer highly addictive foods created completely out of separate chemicals, just for the purpose of triggering our immediate desire to be satisfied.
And it kills the whole point we evolved passed all the other animals.
We evolved beyond them because of our ability to sit, pause, observe and reflect.
This gave us the edge on the African savannah because we could learn and build upon previous knowledge very quickly the more we observed.
But that's all changing now because of that survival reflex to be satisfied immediately.
We lose our ability to premeditate our thoughts, feelings and actions and plan according to them.
We find ourselves in a situation where we become hungry, but did not bring healthy food and only have a vending machine or drive thru available.
Of course we give in to the urge to eat, it's connected to our emotion.
And 100% of the decisions we make are emotional.
So what do we do?
We sit, pause, observe and reflect.
We notice our patterns and create failsafe systems for providing the survival mechanism what it needs, but in a healthy way.
It's the smartest, wisest and most powerful thing we can do.
Create a relationship with ourselves and integrate our three brains.
Without doing so we keep falling back into the same patterns because we fail to see how we can satisfy them within ourselves.
