I’d love to do an African Safari all over again this year! Once upon a time, I wanted to be a vet and have long since been fascinated with animals of all sorts (and everything David Attenborough does thanks to this). Funny thing is, this trip to South Africa started off as a trip to Peru. Fed up and confused with the options for booking flights to Peru on a Friday evening (and perhaps slightly addled by wine), we decided to throw all plans of Peru out of the window and go to South Africa instead (we did go to Peru the following year though). Then came the weeks of trying to figure out which safari game reserve to visit (we kind knew Kruger would be a safe bet). Turns out, not many Safari Lodges in South Africa accepted bookings online. Eventually, we found one that we all loved and that did accept booking and that was it - safari sorted! At the last minute, we decided to squeeze in a trip to Cape Town while in South Africa… We soon found out that Cape Town is not a place you squeeze in - it’s a place you visit in and of itself! This whole safari experience was absolutely fantastic (and super indulgent - we spent our afternoons by the pool or in the spa when not on game drives - it’s too hot to do much else) and its easily one of the most relaxed and most amazing holidays I’ve ever had in a long while.
