: 69 It's all the talk right now: the Instagram algorithm. I have gotten half a dozen emails on it, and seen countless posts from Instagrammers addressing it so I figured I would join in on the conversation. Instagram wants us to be more interactive 🤝 and engage with one another, instead of mindlessly scrolling and hiding behind our phones. The algorithm wants us to act more like humans and less like computers :) Fancy that! I know first hand how awkward the social media experience can be, sharing our cherished work, personal thoughts, or special moments and wondering if it will get good feedback... or any feedback at all. Sure, many people see the posts and stories, but there isn't enough actual engagement and THAT affects the algorithm. It doesn't just affect us business owners either, it affects YOU the viewer/client, too.
Your favorite accounts simply will not show up in your feed unless Instagram thinks it's a favorite. And how do they determine that? Solid interaction. Likes, shares, saving posts, sending DMs, viewing stories, commenting. So if you want to keep seeing Chelsea Davis Photography in your feed -- or any of your favorite accounts -- click that like button ❤️, step out from anonymity and comment, DM, engage with us 😘 I know I sure love reading the comments and having conversations with you guys! And I don't want you to miss out on important info, like mini session sign-ups, model calls, and specials (all of which are coming down the line super soon!).
I have met so many wonderful and interesting people by stepping out of my own comfort zone lately and engaging more myself, commenting and sending DMs if I think a story is funny or informative, or if someone asks a question. It certainly makes this Instagram world feel more like a community, like a group of friends connecting instead of feed of perfect squares and no real people behind them.
So let's CONNECT. If you have a Q, ask! If you love something, hit that like button ❤️ or comment. Want to try it? Share below any of your thoughts about Instagram, the algorithm, what you enjoy seeing, what you want to see more of. I would love to meet and "chat" with more of you guys!
