: 14 Forget about photographing them, we didn't even have plans of hunting down the Northern Lights in Iceland. Though there were pretty good chances, since it was a shoulder season, we were just grateful for being able to explore a WHOLE country and hardly gave a thought about ticking more things off.
And there came a day out of nowhere, when we came out from our AirBnB in Akureyri after dinner, a slight hint of this beauty winked at us. At first, we thought it was a bunch of clouds hiding behind the moon. But made us wonder why they danced like the way they did. We drove a couple of miles out of town to see if what we saw was right. And just when I was making a video in the car, they came out of nowhere. Even before we had crossed the town! Aurora Borealis put up a show for us, literally, on the biggest canvas ever.
This show in particular, above Reykjavik's main landmark - Hallgrímskirkja Church, was right outside our balcony!
Hallelujah, it is!
