: 6 Let’s chat. While we focus on #Legalization of the #cannabis plant it is imperative for us to pay clear attention to the language of the laws. Specifically, some states have said that #medicalmarijuana is legal, but at a cost. The cost of that, in #Arizona, is citizens giving up their right to #gun ownership. Now some may say “so what, I’m about peace and love and don’t need guns just give me my weed”. Well there’s a BIG issue here. The issue is that the freedoms we have, such as the right to bear arms, were put in place to allow citizens the opportunity to defend themselves against the threat of a tyrannical government. If we take guns away from certain individuals specifically cannabis users, those cannabis users will not be able to defend themselves in case of a tyrannical government rising. Now I don’t mean to scare anyone into thinking that the United States could fall victim of a Tyrannical/Trumpannical ruler... but it can happen; which is why we must pay attention, and take action when the language of the law does not protect or ensure protections or freedoms equally. In furthering the argument, we must also pay close attention to the language of the laws so that these laws do not turn into precedents for future laws. In other words, taking away guns from X population will set a precedent to take away guns from Y population. So let’s keep on fighting for legalization and #decriminalization, while paying close attention to the written laws.
