: 1 Recently a popular photographer said how protecting nature is pointless unless you can play on it.... Which he quickly changed to say we should place equal importance on protecting and playing. Which is definitely true. We all have a different way we like to play.
I’m highly sensitive. I notice if a place I go to often has changed. I notice the squished plants, the litter, the damage left behind from someone’s “fun”
Areas need protection from people who can’t see nature beyond a place for their ego to play.
Our society has become so damn individualistic people don’t seem to think or care about the other visitors, who have a different vision of “fun”
Fun for me is seeing unpicked flowers, grass growing tall and reaching for the sky because it has not been driven over. Fun is seeing animal footprints next to mine. Fun is connecting deeply and intimately with my surroundings.
And I’ll always respect that others would prefer to simply drive over it all, I get it, I know we’re not all the same.
But I’m tired of getting my heart broken every time I step into nature and I see how much humans have fucked it up.
Wake up, if we all don’t soon, there will be no nature left to “play” on.
